Activities at Ebury Court Care Home in Romford Essex
Activities are an integral part of the home and we are committed to providing a regular and stimulating programme for our residents' enjoyment. We have wide and varied which provides activities for our residents throughout the day. We actively listen to our residents who participate in choosing activities and new suggestions are incorporated into our activity programme. We understand that Cognitive Stimulation is very important and to this end, we run a club, named by the residents as The Lavender Club. This meets three times a day for fun and stimulating activities which include musical based activities, skittles, knitting circle, board and card games, arts and crafts, cooking club, pottery, gardening, floristry and reminiscence.
Our Care Staff also facilitate Namaste Care - a sensory care programme for those with end stage dementia (twice daily, seven days a week) which has been highly successful in improving the service user's quality of life, proved by audit and research published in American Journal of Alzheimer's - see 'news' page for link to paper.
External facilitators also offer weekly music to movement (EXTEND), tai-chi, holistic therapy, professional entertainment and weekly hairdresser.
We also offer weekly outings to a variety of places for example pub lunches, music and dancing and church services. In addition to this, we also organise theatre trips and day trips to places of interest for example, Buckingham Palace, country parks and seaside resorts.
