GSF Reaccreditation Results 2017
We are delighted to receive the National Gold Standard Framework for end of life care award at Platinum level, achieving 20 out of the 20 standards at the highest level of ‘excellent’. We have also been shortlisted for ‘CAre Home of the Year 2017’. The winner to be announced at the GSF conference on 29th September 2017.
Summer Fete
On Saturday 29th July 2017, we held our annual Summer Fete. Despite cloudy weather, we were fotunate that the rain held off until the end of the afternoon. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and the event was well attended.
The Big Lunch
The theme of National Care Home Open Day this year on 16th June was “The Big Lunch”. We decided to hold a BBQ in our garden and this was well attended by visitors, friends and colleagues. It was a great success, the sun shone and was enjoyed by everyone.
Special Sparkling Thursday’s
Over the recent year, we have had lots of reasons to celebrate and on these occasions, our residents have very much enjoyed a glass of “bubbly” with us. So, we have now decided to introduce “Special Sparkling Thursday” where we will serve Prosecco to accompany the main meal of the day to make every Thursday more special.
Ebury Court stars in new National guide to help other care services improve
Workforce development agency Skills for Care asked Beverley Manzar to become one of their expert partners to help create a ‘Good and outstanding care guide’ to help employers to think about what they can do to secure a good or outstanding rating when they are inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Top Ranking
Ebury Court has just been ranked fifth by Cambridge-based Health and Social Partnerships in their publication: “Which Health and Social Care location? Rankings of Regulated Health and Social Care organisations in England”. This is across the whole of England – a major achievement!

National Care Awards
We are delighted that our Registered Manager, Beverley Manzar, has been nominated for ‘National Care Manager of the Year’ (dementia) and reached the final five. This is a significant achievement as this year, there were a unprecendent number of nominations.
Outstanding
We are delighted to announce that today, 25th February 2016, the results of the unannounced CQC inspection of the 11th December 2015 have been published and we have been rated as “outstanding”. This is a huge achievement and a reflection of the excellence of our service.
The Lavender Club
On 5th February 2016, the Lavender Club was launched. This is a daily programme of continuous meaningful and fun activities throughout the day and early evening. Feedback from attendees so far has been very positive. We look forward to its continued success.
Ebury Court Christmas Bazaar
Our annual Christmas Bazaar is being held on Saturday 21st November from 2pm. We have many stalls including bric-a-brac, books, DVDs, cakes, sweets, childrens toys and games, “how many sweets in the jar?”, guess the weight of the cake plus festive mulled wine and mince pies and a fantastic raffle. All proceeds go towards our residents fund. Everyone welcome!
Music to Movement & Tai-chi classes are now free!
The directors are delighted to announce that the company have decided that all music to movement and tai-chi classes are now free to our residents. There will no longer be a cost for these classes as they would like to give all residents the opportunity to join in.

Margaret Butterworth Award for Excellence in Dementia Care
We are proud to announce that Joan Spicer, one of our Senior Carers, recently won the “Margaret Butterworth Award for Excellence in Dementia Care”. This national award was given for her excellence in dementia care and for her contribution to and development of the Namaste Care Programme.

Namaste - Ebury Court successfully publishes research paper
The audit of our Namaste Care Programme, which Ebury Court commenced in December 2013, has shown that the programme is extremely effective and has raised the quality of life for attendees. Beverley Manzar (Registered Manager), together with Professor Ladislav Volicer, has written a paper analysing the effects of Namaste Care entitled “Increased Quality of Life in Advanced Dementia by Namaste Care”, and this was published 17th October 2015. This is a considerable achievement and a significant contribution in relation to the care of those with dementia, within the health and social care sector. Click the link below to read the paper.
